I worked all day, till there was only half night - and fearlessly with all my might
My joints are burning, worsening, as that daylight clock is burning,
But for fair wage for the labor paid, I laugh at those that call me a slave
One less day, my dreams are closer, then on the final day, labor will be over
-
Again worked all day, from dawn to new light, with joy and against dissenters spite
My eyes got dry, my head not so high, but not enough time to even sigh
And yet more wages for products made, the burning morning one less day
Fantasies forming and one day true, I’ll have the last laugh over the skeptical few
-
I rose anew and all the night, and half way through pleasant light, with less might
But all the pains with my body drained, dreams closer worth all the strain
The car, the house and the green yard too, one day bright dreams will come through
Towards white ceiling rising, to make the necessary timing
Would this world with my dried blood be lying?
-
The days are years its true, kept in denying eyes old hazel, new green and also blue
Sad brown from my father, and sadder brown my mother, would lies drive me further?
Missed twilight, and twinkling gold in morning dew - silent loss paid for dreams too
The world to come, one more night, one more missed light then my labor is done
-
Emerald grass over my parents who did not last, covered their white and silver hues
The sounds of youth are gone, and the time is not long - fewer days my body pawn
For a world that never could, despite all the things I did and would
Now dreams are done, just rising more, my feet aching on an unsteady floor
How I wish for time more, to say they were right - my life a chore
For someone, else’s dream to bring to them evermore.
